You know, I remember this story when it came out in the popular press, and I thought the upshot was that unbaptized babies now do have a place in heaven. From the editorial, it sounds like that’s still not the case. (As a humanist Episcopalian, I have to admit that the whole thing feels a little unreasonable — where was it ever written that a church body gets to decide who’s in heaven?)

absolutely; not written anywhere. Limbo was like a number of other medieval constructs of scholastic thought trying to systematize the grace of God, I’ve always been of the mind that we should operate on the assumption that God knows what he’s (she’s)… doing.
